The Founder, Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO), Dr. Godwin Ehigiamusoe, has disclosed that financial institutions in the organisation have disbursed loans of N140,4 billion to owners of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, especially women in 2016.
Daily Trust reports that the financial institutions in LAPO system, a non governmental organisation, which support SMEs across the country are LAPO Micro-finance Bank and Micro Investment Support Service.

Represented by Executive Director, LAPO, Sebina Idowu-Osehobo, Dr. Ehigiamusoe disclosed this yesterday in Benin during the the 5th LAPO outstanding women leadership award ceremony to reward outstanding women in their business and other professions.
According to him the beneficiaries of the loan disbursement of the organisation within the period under review are mostly women of the 2.9 million customer base of the organisation across 30 states of the country.
He said between October 2015 and 2016 as part of its corporate social responsibility, 3,875 persons have benefited from the organisation Community Health Outreach (CHO) programme in various communities in Edo State, covering full medical complements and surgery.
