The Deputy Vice Chancellor who said this yesterday in an interview with Daily Trust, said, “As you can see, we are not only in session, our students are writing their semester’s  examination.

If we must provide quality and sound education for Nigerians, the academic calender must be stable.”

He said the focus of the institution was to  deliver a world class university to Nigerians and make it unnecessary for them to travel out of the country for world class education.

He said the institution believed that a distorted academic calender would give room for a dysfunctional assessment due to the gap created by strike.

“Ours is a world class university in terms of academic content,” he reiterated, adding that the university wished to break the jinx of Nigerian universities not being among the best in the world.  “We believe that the only way to go about it is to have stability in the education system by doing away with persisted industrial actions,” he said.
