One of the top-notch Nollywood actors who played a hit US sitcom, Friends, Mathew Perry, has died.
According to reports, Perry died at the age of 54 at his Los Angeles Homes on Saturday, 28 October 2023 (12:07 am UK time.)
The report says the actor died of an apparent drowning in a hot tub after suffering a heart attack at his home.
The police received a 911 call from his Pacific Palisades home and was treated as a water rescue.
The police said there was no foul play and no confirmed cause of death.
Perry played the infamous Chandler Bing in the 1990 sitcom Friends alongside Jennifer Aniston Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, and David Schwimmer.

Mathew Perry’s Fight against Addiction
Terry had been known to fight addiction. During an interview, he spoke of his near-death experience in 2019 after his colon burst as a result of opioid use.
He recalled how Aniston confronted him during one of the filming of Friends because he was inebriated.
“I know you’re drinking”; he remembered her telling him once
“We can smell it she said in what Perry called a kind of weird but loving way, adding The plural “we hit me like a sledgehammer.”
Since the actor’s death, his co-stars have been sending in tributes; among is Maggie Wheeler, who played Janice Litman-Goranlnik in the show. She was Chandler’s off-and-on girlfriend in the Sitcom.

Piers Morgan and Actor Octavia Spender also paid tribute to Perry Spencer, writing, “His gift to the world will be remembered forever.”
Though born in Massachusetts, Perry was raised in Ottawa, Canada and moved to LA to pursue his acting career when he was 15.
He joined the cast of friends at the age of 24
