Lagos is poised to become the epicentre of music business innovation as it prepares to host the highly anticipated Showbiz101 Global Workshop and Music Creation Camp from March 26 to 29, 2025.
The event, a collaboration between the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), bridgeAfric, and UNESCO, will bring together a global community of music industry leaders, business executives, celebrities, and creative professionals.
The initiative aims to empower the next generation of artists and music professionals, offering them a unique opportunity to enhance their craft, foster international collaborations, and strengthen Africa’s creative economy.
The five-day event will include hands-on training, performance opportunities, and an exclusive music camp, providing a platform for emerging talent to build global connections within the music industry.
Adenrele Niyi, AFRIMA’s Chief Experience Officer (CXO), emphasized the significance of this partnership with bridgeAfric, underscoring AFRIMA’s ongoing commitment to supporting Africa’s music industry.
“Our mission at AFRIMA is to empower and foster cross-border collaborations, equipping artists with the knowledge and global connections needed to succeed.
This workshop is not just about music it’s about giving young creatives the tools to navigate and thrive in the global music landscape,” Niyi said.
This initiative aligns closely with AFRIMA’s broader vision, encompassing music awards, talent discovery, music business development, and advocacy.
“Our ultimate goal is to position Africa as a central player in the global music scene, one hit, one artist, and one opportunity at a time,” she added.
Victoria Nkong, President of Bridge Africa and Associate Producer for AFRIMA, also highlighted the event’s vital role in nurturing Africa’s future creative leaders. “Learning and skill-building are essential to solving the challenges in the entertainment industry,” Nkong said.
“This workshop will equip young talents with the skills they need to succeed, offering them both the knowledge and the network to propel their careers forward.”
The Showbiz101 Global Workshop will feature a range of activities, including training sessions, live performances, and exclusive recording opportunities.
A highlight of the event will be a three-day music camp, where top musicians from across Africa will come together to write, record, and produce music as a team.
The collaboration will culminate in a global EP featuring renowned artists such as Juma Jux from Tanzania, Nadia Nakai from South Africa, and DJ Neptune from Nigeria.
Ivory Coast will be well represented by celebrated artists such as Didi B, Himra, Suspect 95, Kikimoteleba, Goulam, and Gabin Bao.
