Some people say the new sneakers look nothing less like luxury fashion, but for the homeless.

Balenciaga, the luxury fashion house, has debuted a new range of damaged shoes dubbed “Paris Sneaker.”

Following the launch of the couture house’s new Paris sneaker, pictures of horribly damaged, degraded shoes taken for the brand by photographer Leopold Duchemin have gone viral, eliciting a range of opinions online.

The sneakers are constructed of fully-destroyed cotton and rubber with ribs all over the cloth, according to the official website.

Only 100 pairs of “very ruined” sneakers will be auctioned for $1,850 each, according to the fashion label (N1,091,500). On the Balenciaga website, non-limited edition, less roughed-up versions are priced between $495 and $625, depending on the design.
