Femi Adebayo, a Nollywood actor, has filed a lawsuit in the Federal High Court of Ibadan against Murfy Ben International Limited, a YouTube channel, for claimed copyright violation of his two films.

Mr Adebayo claimed damages and swift action against the company in connection with his two films, "Survival of Jelili" and "Kodi Ologbon Aye."

Mr Adebayo testified in November 2021 that numerous Nigerians had called him to complain that the company was broadcasting his two films on its YouTube account, Aforefo TV, without his permission.

Igilia Ode, the company's Managing Director, denied any misconduct at the resumption of the trial on Tuesday.

Mrs Ode, while being led in evidence by her lawyer, Ezenao Chukwuemeka, presented the court with various documents that acted as exhibits in her case.

In 2020, she also submitted the report of the police inquiry on the case.

Following that, Justice Uche Agomoh delayed the case till May 19 to continue the trial.

Through his lawyer, Y.B. Adebowale, the petitioner had claimed that Aforefo TV specialized in defrauding members of the public by using the titles of newly-released movies to promote older films.
