Meet the new wife of Ooni of Ife, Folashade Ashley

Afolashade Adegoke Ashley Folakemi is one of the new wives of Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife.

The queen is a well-educated woman who works as a chartered accountant and is involved in philanthropy through the Ashley Adegoke Foundation.

Her almost certain emergence as the new queen must have been the cause of the rift between Olori Naomi Silekunola and the Ooni himself. She has always been in the paramount ruler's life, even before he married Oloori Wuraola

The queen holds herself in high regard, as evidenced by the fact that the majority of her posts are images and writeups in which she extols and praises herself.

In reality, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, who turned 47 last week, would have wedded Ashley before Naomi if it hadn't been for a stumbling block: Ashley is a single mother.

She also tags herself as "Aya Oba" (king's wife) in a post on her Instagram page which reads,

"Alpha female doesn't run in packs; she's often alone, knows her power and works in silence. Confidence in the business, and I am its BOSS …. Life is full of pretenders, BUT I slay them all… I never stumble… distinctive is the centrepiece of my TABLE….Call me Omo Oba Ooni Adagba, Omo Ajimasapon, Omo Ekun, Omo Debiyi, Omo Erin Meje Meje, Omo Adagba Komoyeku, AFolasade AFolakemi Ashley ODU Aya Osha, Aya Olofin Adimula, Aya Oba."

Ashley has been unveiled as the latest queen during the 47th birthday of the Ooni last weekend. Even Oloori Naomi acknowledged the presence of some queens in the palace while giving her vote of thanks at the surprise party organised for the king.
