A Libya returnee, simply identified as Nike at the weekend went into false labour upon arrival at the Motel Benin Plaza, Edo State where they were lodged by the state government before departing to their various destinations.
Governor Godwin Obaseki has in the last two weeks received three batches of returnees: 84, 169 and 153.
Nike was among the third batch of 153 Libya returnees comprising 87 males and 66 females, four of them children.
Daily Trust reports that eight pregnant women were among the female returnees.
An official of the Edo State Task Force Against Human Trafficking, Mr. Solomon Okoduwa, said as soon as the females arrived at the hotel where they were lodged alongside other deportees, Nike suddenly went into false labour and was rushed to the hospital.
It was gathered that another returnee who came with a two-day-old baby was also taken to the hospital for medical attention.
