15-year-old Nigerian wins global maths competition

Nigeria’s 15-year-old Faith Odunsi, has emerged the best at the Global Open Mathematics Tournament, defeating opponents from Europe, South America, Africa, America, Asia and Australia.

She set a record by answering 19 questions in 60 seconds at Cowbellpedia in 2019.

Faith, an SS3 student from Ijebu in Ogun state told Punch newspaper that her experience winning the global competition was unforgettable.

She noted that winning the “tough competition” made her happy and honoured.

By winning the mathematics competition at the global stage, Faith Odunsi has proven that Nigerians are gifted and will always put the country on the world stage if given the chance.
