- Why Buhari attacked Obasanjo – Reno Omokri
A former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has responded to the President, Muhammadu Buhari over a statement credited to him concerning the $16bn power project under the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration.

Buhari had, without mentioning name, taken a jibe at Obasanjo to explain what he did with $16bn that was projected for power sector.
Responding, Fani-Kayode blamed his former boss for not jailing Buhari when he had the chance.
The former Minister alleged to have seen a report that indicted the President who was then, the Chairman of Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF).
Fani-Kayode said “The greatest mistake that President Obasanjo made was not to prosecute and jail President Buhari for looting PTF funds. I saw the report and it was shocking. Billions of dollars had vanished. OBJ summoned him and showed him the damning report. Buhari begged like a baby. Sadly Obasanjo let him off the hook”
Similar, Reno Omokri, a former aide to the a former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan attributed the sudden attack to Obasanjo’s refusal to support Buhari’s second term bid.
He said “Last year on Obasanjo’s birthday, @MBuhari called him a statesman ‘with commitment to good governance’. Today, he is hinting at probing Obasanjo’s alleged $16 billion power project contracts just because Obasanjo is against his reelection. War on C̶o̶r̶r̶u̶p̶t̶i̶o̶n̶ opposition!
“Imagine Buhari, who has not initiated, started and completed any project in 3 years (beside his Daura helipad) attacking Obj and GEJ who initiated and finished thousands of projects.Has Buhari forgotten when he called Obasanjo ‘a statesman committed to good governance’ last year?”
