18 And 13-year-old Boys Arrested Over Abduction Of Woman In Erue, Uromi In Edo State

Edo State Police have arrested two amateur kidnappers responsible for the abduction of a girl in Edo State.

The incident happened on Tuesday, 28 December 2021, in Erue community, Uromi, Esan North-East.

Police arrested the kidnappers after a good samaritan brought the girl Testimony Akioyame into the station.

The Samaritan informed the police that he found the girl tied down in an uncompleted building at Erue community in Uromi.

The suspects are Godstime Obioko, 18, and Destiny Osevaru, 13, all of Erue community in Esan North-East Local Government area.

The duo confessed to having abducted the girl, tied and kept her in an uncompleted building why they left to charge their phones to contact her parents for ransom, a police statement said.

The good Samaritan found Testimony before their return and reported her at the nearest police station.

The statement signed by the Edo State Public Relations Officer SP Kontongs Bello noted that the kidnappers confessed that they intended to demand Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000.00), but their plans were thwarted by the rescuer.

The investigation is still ongoing and the Edo State Commissioner of Police CP Philip Aliyu Ogbadu assured that the suspects would be charged to court.

He thanked the public for providing the information that led to their arrest while reinstating his commitment to safeguarding lives and properties in the state.
