Under the Federal Government's anticipated expenditures included in the 2023 budget, the Presidential Villa intends to spend N14.8bn on items including Internet connection, stationery, and telephone costs, among others.

Internet connection for the Villa was allocated N67.1 million in the budget, while stationery and computer consumables would cost N79 million.

A further breakdown of the budget revealed that N35.9 million was allotted for power charges, N306.2 million for telephone charges, and N6 million and N40.6 million, respectively, for water rates.

N1.6 billion of the Villa's overall budget would be used for personnel costs.

Newspapers alone consumed N26.4 million of the N35 million budgeted for books and newspapers, while books ate up N8.5 million.

The 2023 budget estimates to be presented by President Muhammadu Buhari is pegged at N20.3trn, even though the government would have to borrow over N10 trillion to finance budget deficit due to dwindling oil revenue and servicing of debts.
