Vigilante at Ankpa in Kogi State has arrested a 22-year-old woman who came along with a gang of five men to rob residents of the Akor community.

The gang, who were armed with guns and other assorted riffles, invaded the community with Point of Sale, POS to collect money from every house they visited at gunpoint.

A witness account revealed that the fare devils collected N800,000 as cash while using the POS to collect undisclosed money from their victims.

Luck, however, ran out of them when they were engaged in a gun battle by the vigilante, and they escaped from the community with wounds.

The female among them, who unverified reports claimed to be from Kogi State University, was captured and handed over to the police by the vigilante.

Armed robbers have recently moved around in Kogi state with POS machines to collect money from their victims.

Some boarding schools in Kogi state, which are located in rural communities, have been abandoned by students because of frequent attacks by men of the underworld.
