- Police arrest 49-year-old man believed to be known to the woman
A woman has been stabbed in East Dulwich.
The incident happened on Friday night, approximately 22:10hrs, 23 July, at a residential property in Lordship Lane, SE22.
Police and London Ambulance Service arrived at the scene and found a 36-year-old woman suffering stab injuries.
She was rushed to the hospital for treatment; however, she later died on Sunday morning, at 02:01hrs.
The police are trying to locate and inform her next of kin.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled in due course.
A 49-year-old man, believed to be known to the deceased, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
He remains in custody at a south London police station.
Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime are leading the murder investigation.
Detectives are in the early stages of the investigation and looking to speak to eyewitnesses who live or were in the area where the attack occurred.
