During the hearing, the prosecution counsel, Emmanuel Zamba, informed the court that the DSS had filed a motion ex parte on March 15, seeking an order from the court to remand the suspects in prison custody in the state.

The motion contained a five-paragraph affidavit and cited sections 2 and 3 of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022, as evidence of the alleged offences committed by the suspects.

Zamba requested an order to detain the defendants in the custody of the Nigeria Correctional Service for 30 days pending the determination of the suit.

The Chief Magistrate, M O Osinbajoin, granted the prayer of the DSS as pleaded by the prosecution counsel and adjourned the matter till April 17 for further reports from the DSS.
