A teacher killed by bandits in Elgeyo Marakwet

A primary school teacher has been confirmed dead after he was shot by thugs in Kerio Valley, Elgeyo Marakwet County in Kenya’s Rift Valley.

Reports indicate that Simon Kiprotich Cheserek, a teacher at Chesongoch Primary School was shot in the head and legs on Tuesday evening. He was heading home from work.

After the incident, Cheserek was rushed to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

“Armed bandits were hiding in a thicket at Toroko area along Chesongoch-Tot highway where they shot Cheserek who was on his motorcycle,” the area police boss Simon Osumba.
