Kenyan police have arrested a 22-year-old woman accused of throwing her two kids into a deepwater well in Bomet county, South Rift.

Sharon Chebet threw her two boys aged 4 and 6 years into the 40-metres deep water well and left them to die on Monday, August 23, 2021.

The 4-year-old boy died while his brother was saved after neighbours swiftly pulled him out of the well.

“Luckily, a neighbour heard the little angels wailing in distress, from deep inside the water hole. Together with other well-wishers, they joined hands and rescued the boys who were drenched in water,” read the report from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

Investigations are ongoing to establish why the woman committed such an act.
