Amosun ‘ll be sacked by PDP in 2015

Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Chief Bayo Dayo, has told Governor Ibikunle Amosun to be prepared to leave the Government House in 2015. He made the assertion at the weekend in Ijebu-Mushin when he formally received about 2, 000 members of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and Labour Party (LP) who defected to PDP in Ijebu East Local Government Area of the state.

The defectors were led by former chairmanship aspirant on the platform of ACN in the last local government election in Ogun State, Prince Yemi Duduyemi. Dayo averred that the defectors made wise decisions by joining PDP where internal democracy worked, adding: “This is a party where internal democracy works. We have capacity to absorb as many members of other political parties that love democracy and good governance. Our party is the largest in Africa. In PDP, we will give you opportunity to realise your dreams.

“We have been discussing with the defectors for long. They are not happy with the ACN government. They told us that they made mistake by voting for ACN because PDP would have made the state better.” Dayo, an engineer, said the party was now united and had decided to work together as one, saying, “there may be grouping but we are under one umbrella. But we shall take over Ogun State in 2015.”

Welcoming the defectors, Chairman of PDP in the local government, Alhaji Agoro Akinlagun, described PDP as a grassroots party.

“In this party, we carry people along. We don’t play politics of imposition. We give people level playground. So, if you need dividends of democracy, we are ready to welcome you into PDP,” he said.
