The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki was absent in his own meeting on Thursday, NAIJA CENTER NEWS has gathered.

Obaseki had summoned three representatives from each wards in a bid to inaugurate canvassers ahead of the 2020 general election.
The governor is battling with his former boss Adams Oshiomhole and his loyalists over what they termed as “neglect”
NAIJA CENTER NEWS gathered that Obaseki called the meeting of the three wards to appoint canvassers in every ward for Obaseki/Shaibu Organization (OSM).
Other speculations, according to his former acting Chief Press Secretary John Mayaki alluded that the move was to induce them in an attempt to win them over, while he planned defection (plan B) should his negotiation skills failed.
A source who was privy to the meeting told NAIJA CENTER NEWS that Obaseki sent a representative, a Special Adviser on Community Development Honorable Newman Ughiagbe.
He said “Again The Nature Of Governor Obaseki kept manifesting as he was absent from the meeting requested by him with 3 persons per ward. The people felt bad and promise not to work with the Mou Governor.
“The Governor was represented by Hon.
Newman Ughiagbe, Special Adviser on Community Development. What a confused Government.”
It’s not clear if the governor is planning a defection if his plans to reconcile his difference with his aggrieved members failed.
Obaseki met with the governor of Delta State, Mr Ifeanyi Okowa few days ago, and it could be recalled that he was also seen with one of the enemies of his former boss, Chief Osawaru Igbinedion.
