President Muhammadu Buhari’s convoy was allegedly attacked in Kano state, with stones reportedly hurled at the vehicles.

Videos of the incident went viral, showing stones littering the road and individuals claiming residents of Kano were angry at the president and decided to attack him.

Debo Ologunagba, PDP spokesperson, described the incident as treason and a sacrilegious assault on national sovereignty, accusing the APC Presidential Campaign of plotting to undermine the presidency, cause violence and disrupt the 2023 elections.

Bayo Onanuga, the APC presidential campaign council spokesperson, dismissed the attack as imaginary and criticized the PDP for spreading fake news. Onanuga accused the PDP of trying to blame Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and Asiwaju Tinubu for the supposed attack.

He also called for security agencies to arrest Ologunagba for his comments.

“This invented attack on President Muhammadu Buhari must have happened only in the fertile imagination of PDP National Publicity Secretary, one Debo Ologunagba,” Onanuga said. “Nigerians should disregard this fake news from a party that has lost touch with reality.”
