The battle for the seat of the Rector of Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State took a different tune on Wednesday as staff of the school accused the Acting Rector, Dr. Sanusi M. Jimah of hatched job.

Three staff Unions in the institution had jointly declared strike action in protest of the incompetence of the Management team.
After Dr. Jimah was appointed, some aggrieved lecturers believed that the Actin Rector compensated some of the key leaders of the Union with juicy appointments which has led to the abandonment of their earlier demands.
NAIJA CENTER NEWS gathered that the posting and appointment done so far by the Acting Rector are punitive, lopsided, ethnic biased and targeted at perceived/imaginary enemies and especially non-indigenes of Auchi.
The aggrieved lecturers claimed that those appointed so far were indicted and punished in December, 2016 by the Federal Ministry of Education including staff facing criminal charges for breach of peace, willful damage and assault.
Since the leaders of both the Union and the Joint Action Committee (JAC) are enjoying their new appointments, the weekly meeting usually called to resolve issues have been abandoned.
There has been battle since the appointment of Dr Sanusi M. Jimah as the Acting Rector of the school.
NAIJA CENTER NEWS had earlier reported the circumstances surrounding the emergence of the current Rector as many of his colleagues claimed he was fraudulently appointed.
NAIJA CENTER NEWS reported that the appointee is one of the applicants who was not shortlisted by two different teams setup for the purpose by the Federal Ministry of Education.
Some aggrieved applicants alleged that Dr. Jimah attended interview even though he didn’t meet the criteria for the position, accusing one Prince Momoh as the mastermind.
The sources had quarreled that the Acting Rector couldn’t have garner enough points as he was never a substantive Head of Department and did not serve as Dean for up to a year and above all, did not fulfill a major criterion that an applicant must have his Masters and PhD in courses offered by Auchi Polytechnic.
Before the current Acting Rector was appointed, the Union, in a document made available to NAIJA CENTER NEWS had demanded that a substantive Rector should be appointed, the Registrar and Bursar of the polytechnic be removed and demanded the implementation of CONTISS 15 MIGRATION FOR STAFF BELOW CONTISS 11.
The Union also request the payment of arrears accruing from the migration and the payment of deducted but unremitted check offs for staff welfare schemes and Unions’ dues over the years.
