.Edo State Police Command has confirmed the death of one inspector who was said to have been hit by a stray bullet, saying those involved in that dastardly act will arrested soon.
The Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, made the revelation during a press conference in Benin City.
The police authority frowned at the activities of thugs in the state occasioned by the forthcoming 2024 governorship election.

The police commissioner said the unfortunate incident transpired when the court reinstated Philip Shaibu as Deputy Governor, who was told to return to Benin City with his supporters.
He said that, accompanied by the APC governorship candidate, Monday Okpebholo, were still at the Airport and it was observed that his supporters blocked the exit gate of the Airport.
He said two groups started exchanging gunshots, which led to casualty.
Police Commissioner Funsho Adegboye, however, warned that thuggery will not be tolerated during the campaign period.
He said investigations are ongoing to bring those involved to book.
