Bloodbath In Benin As Member Of Edo Vigilante Network Killed Two Persons

There was pandemonium at the Ikpoba Hill part of Benin city Edo state on Thursday as a member of the Edo Vigilante network shot dead two persons.

The deceased Mr Tony Bassi and One Lucia Nwoorie were jointly killed in a shop along Efehi street, off College Road, Aduwawa in Ikpoba Hill, Benin City, Edo State.

The reason for the killing of the two persons is yet to be known, but the vigilante man identified as Osagie Ufua is now with the police at Aduwawa police station in Benin city, Edo state.

Standard Gazette learned that Ufua who reported himself at the police station said he fired the gunshots into the air but accidentally killed the two persons.

Edo State Police Public Relations Officer SP Bello Kontongs said the police would investigate the incident.

SP Kontongs said the bodies of the two persons had been deposited in the mortuary for autopsy and other investigations.
