Boko Haram attacks renew our determination to bring them to a decisive end – Buhari

The Nigerian President said on Friday that the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists renewed attack would give the government more motivation to bring the group to an end.

Buhari said this after the report of the attack on the United Nations and other Humanitarian agencies working in Rann in Borno State.

He said “Boko Haram’s recent cowardly attacks have only renewed the determination of our government to bring the insurgency to a decisive end, in the shortest possible time.”

“As I have always maintained, no true religion advocates hurting the innocent. To now further attack and kill those offering humanitarian aid is the height of bestiality. It is odious before both God and man,” the President said.

The President assured Nigerians in 2015 that Boko Haram would be brought to an end in three months.

In the group’s renewed attack,  over 105 students were abducted in Taraba State, and on Thursday, another three were kidnapped in Adamawa State.

Eyewitnesses in Kaya village said the militants shot a woman and abducted three men at night while residents fled to the bush and returned in the morning.

‘’Boko Haram insurgents had launched surprise attacked on us this Thursday night at Kaya which is very close to a military base, they looted foodstuff, took a vehicle away and abducted three people,’’ he said.
