The newly designed naira notes will be unveiled by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, according to Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Godwin Emefiele.
During the Monetary Policy Committee’s monthly meeting on Tuesday in Abuja, Emefiele revealed this.

The governor stated that the apex bank would not extend the January 31, 2023 deadline for the deposit of all old notes in commercial banks.
Emefiele declared on October 26, 2022, that the CBN would start issuing the redesigned N200, N500, and N1,000 notes on December 15, 2022. However, he has stated that the CBN will announce on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 rather than waiting until December 15.
According to him, “100 days is enough for any person from any part of Nigeria to deposit his money in the bank and get his money when the new notes are released.
“For information, indeed, we are no longer waiting till December 15th to unveil and begin to release the new notes.
