Breaking: Obaseki closes College of Agriculture, Iguoriakhi temporarily

Edo State government has temporarily closed the College of Agriculture Iguoriakhi with immediate effect.

This is coming barely two weeks after the government constituted a committee to investigate issues relating to financial misappropriation.

The closure notice was signed by the secretary to the State government, Osarodion Ogie, Esq. Ogie explained that the action was in line with “the state government’s determination to reposition the college to achieve the goal and objectives for which it was established.

The statement added that a team has been put in place to assist government in repositioning the college. The team is headed by Professor Anthony Durojaiye Ologhobo.

Other members are Prof. Sylvester Oboh and representatives of Presco Plc; Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc; Nigeria Institute for Oil Palm Research (NIFOR); Rubber Research Institute of Nigeria; Rubber Estate of Nigeria and Leventis Farms Ltd. The committee will be inaugurated on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the Office of the Governor.
