Breaking: Parish Priest Christopher Odia Abducted in Edo State

Unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped the Parish Priest of St. Michael Catholic Church, Ikhabigbo, in Etsako West's local government area of Edo State.

Standard Gazette gathered that Rev. Fr. Christopher Odia was kidnapped along Auchi-Agenebode Road on his way to officiate a Mass at Ugbhenor in Etsako West local government area of Edo State.

Crime correspondent Festus Alenkhe gathered that he was kidnapped on Sunday, 26 June 2022.

Rev. Fr. Odia had just finished officiating the first mass at Okhabigbo and was on his way to officiate another Mass at Ugbhenor when the gunmen ambushed him near Oghio River around 08:15am.

His whereabouts are unknown at the time of filing this report.

The kidnappers are yet to contact the family for ransom, as concerned relations quivers.

Edo State Police command is yet to make any statement on the incident.
