Breaking: Senior Police Officer Kidnapped In Edo

  • Abductors call for ransom

A senior police officer with the State Intelligence Bureau of the Edo state police command has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen in Benin city, Edo state.

The heavily armed gunmen who stormed his house at Ogida in Benin city in the early hoùrs of Sunday forced their way into his apartment.

The victim, ASP Clement Amoko was forcefully abducted to an unknown destination under the watchful eyes of his wife and children.

Standard Gazette crime correspondent Festus Alenkhe who has been monitoring the situation reports that the abductors have already called the family members for ransom.

In the meantime, the police have intensified strong efforts to rescue the victim unhurt.

Various security teams have been deployed across Edo state towards ensuring that their colleague is rescued peacefully.
