Two students of a private school in Igarra, Glory Land Group of Schools, have been abducted.
The students were abducted on Tuesday evening at about 17:35hrs along Igarra-Auchi Road, near Ikpeshi, Akoko Edo local government area of the Edo State.
Standard Gazette learned that the children were with some adults whose relationships and identities were not known before they were kidnapped.
The students were intercepted along the road at gunpoint before being dragged out and taken into the bush while shooting sporadically.
As of press time, the kidnappers have yet to contact the family members for ransom talk.
Contacted, the Edo state police public relations officer, SP Bello Kontongs, said, “Yes, two of the students were kidnapped and moved into the bush.
“A combined team of police operatives, soldiers and Vigilantes are already combing the bush for possible rescue”.
He assured that the combined security operatives would rescue the victims unhurt.
