Laolu Akande, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo's media assistant, Bola Tinubu has responded to insinuations that President Muhammadu Buhari has endorsed the All Progressives Congress APC leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party's flagbearer for the 2023 presidential election.
Akande said he is not informed. In response to the report, Akande stated in a Guardian article published on Sunday, January 9, that he is unaware of any such debate among the pillars of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
"I don’t think you should support the flying of such dubious kites. But to answer your question, no. I am not aware of any such discussions to even begin with.”
According to the rumor, Tinubu has officially informed President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo of his presidential ambitions, and Buhari has granted his assent and support.
Some speculate that if this is true, Osinbajo and Tinubu may face off in the APC primaries ahead of the 2023 presidential election. However, Akande's denial of the charges has put a stop to rumors that President Buhari has snubbed the Vice President in order to promote the APC's national leader.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
