“I will say the truth, I bought the head for N60,000 from a man I met at a party. I can’t mention the person’s name. I wanted to use the head to make money ritual. I am a herbalist and I have been doing the work for many years,” the suspect said.

Tunde Olayiwola an Islamic cleric but in reality, a witchdoctor was detained by the Ondo State Police Command for being in possession of a fresh human head.

The suspect, a herbalist, was apprehended by command personnel carrying a human head in the Oka district of Ondo town on Thursday.

Mr Oyeyemi Oyediran, the Commissioner of Police, who paraded the suspect and others at the command headquarters in Akure, said Olayiwola was apprehended after a tip-off.

"On December 23, 2021, about 9.20 a.m., the police received information that a self-proclaimed cleric named Alfa Tunde Olayiwola, a suspected ritualist, was ready to receive a consignment presumed to be a human head," according to the commissioner. The police jumped into action right away, and the cleric was detained in Oka's Ajagbale neighborhood.

“A fresh human head was found in his custody. He confessed that the head found in his possession was to be used to ensure that he had a better life.”

The 55-year-old Olayiwola confessed to the crime, saying he acquired the head for N60,000 from an unknown person and intended to use it for a money ritual.
