COMMUNAL CLASH: Ikpeshi Killing Increases As EDHA Intervenes to Meet With Stakeholders

Over three persons have been killed, with many injured and property worth millions of Naira destroyed as Ikpeshi in Akoko Edo local government area of Edo has continued to boil over the communal clash.
 
This situation has generated tension and apprehension as the natives have started scampering for the safety of their lives and property. 

This has prompted the  Edo State House of Assembly to take steps to wade into The ongoing communal clash that has reportedly led to the loss of lives in the Ikpeshi community in Akoko Edo 2 constituency. 

The speaker Blessing AGBEBAKU said the sad report of the violent clash and bloodletting in Ikpeshi must be addressed as a matter of urgent importance. 

The speaker said the incident which has also led to the burning of the palace of the traditional ruler, negates the state governor’s efforts in boosting security across the state.

He mandated the member representing the Akoko Edo 2 constituency Donald Okogbe to set up a meeting with conflicting groups in the area, to find lasting peace in the community.
