Atiku Abubakar’s daughter-in-law and grandchildren have tested negative to Coronavirus.
Punch reports that the family remain on self-isolation at their home at Teslee Palm City Estate, Uruguay Street, Maitama, Abuja.
The Centre for Disease Control had announced on Sunday that Atiku’s son, Mohammed is currently quarantined at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada after testing positive to the Virus on Sunday.
Mohammed is married to the daughter of a former Governor of Bauchi State, Ahmed Muazu, who is also a former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.
According to Punch News, the Vice-Chairman of the Estate, Mr Zakari Aliyu has urged the public not to panic as the immediate family member of the patient (Mohammed) had all tested negative.
Aliyu said, “The man was taken away by the NCDC around 1am. He tested positive but his wife and children all tested negative. However, they are all on self-isolation for the 14-day window and I commend the wife for cooperating with us. There is no cause for panic.
“If his immediate family has tested negative, then it is unlikely that anyone else in the estate has it.”
Responding to the report that Mohammed, who tested positive to Coronavirus went to clubs, mosque and malls, Aliyu cleared that it may have been a mere confusion as the former Vice President had three sons living in the estate.
