It was an emotional day on Thursday when the remains of an Ilesa-based cleric, Olasunkanmi Eso, and his wife, Deborah, were buried in their residence at the Imole Ayo area of Ilesa, Osun State.
The couple were found dead in their house in the early hours of Friday, October 1. The Police immediately swung into action by arresting their 10yr old house help despite no clues yet regarding their death.
There were reports that the death might be a result of food poisoning, but the Osun Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, said the investigation had commenced unravelling the mystery.
Opalola, speaking to The Punch also stated that generator fume could also be the cause of the death. The deceased were buried without autopsies after the children of the couple had requested the corpses of their late parents for interment.
Police PRO further stated, “The police cannot pay for the autopsy. It is costly and since they are not in support of the effort, that is the end of the whole thing. The children insisted they wanted to bury their parents.”
The couple were buried beside each other in the presence of families, associates and church members. They were survived by two children.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
