The Edo State Police Command has arrested four suspected cultists and recovered firearms during a coordinated operation in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement issued by the command’s public relations officer, ASP Eno Ikoedem, the suspects, identified as Solomon Oboigbe, Fidelis Omale, Julius Oseyomon and Abraham Erumosele Momo, were apprehended in the early hours of March 24, 2026, following credible intelligence received by operatives of the Command.
During the operation, four English pump-action guns, nine live cartridges and three expended cartridges were recovered from the suspects.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are allegedly members of the Eiye Confraternity, with indications that the recovered firearms were acquired through illegal means.
The suspects have since been arraigned in court following the conclusion of investigations.
