A car dealer named Mohammed Manga finds himself in a state of confusion as a customer, identified as Henry, has disappeared with one of his cars, a Mercedes Benz GLB 250, in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
According to Manga, a friend who is also involved in the car sales business visited his office in Abuja and requested to take the vehicle, valued at over N55 million, to a potential customer who expressed interest in purchasing it.
Manga explained that his friend accompanied Henry, the customer, for a test drive after negotiations. However, the situation took an unexpected turn when his friend informed Henry that he needed to withdraw money from a Point of Sale (PoS) operator to purchase fuel for the vehicle at a nearby filling station.

As soon as Manga’s friend stepped out of the car to make the withdrawal, Henry abruptly drove off with the vehicle, leaving them shocked and bewildered.
Recalling the incident, Manga stated, “A friend of mine called me to tell me that he wants to take my Mercedes Benz GLB 250 to a customer. He took the car to his office, and the customer came there. He said the customer introduced himself as Henry from Gwarinpa and that he saw the car on an online marketplace.”
Manga continued, “He saw the car and said he liked it; they negotiated N55 million for the car, and he agreed and requested a test drive. He drove the car with my friend sitting on the passenger side, and they drove to the filling station opposite the automatic car wash in Garki to buy petrol before the test drive.”
“However, as soon as my friend stepped out of the car at the filling station to withdraw money from the PoS operator for fuel, the guy zoomed off with the vehicle. You know how it is, there’s no traffic, no hold-up in Abuja, and that’s how he absconded with the car,” Manga added.
Distressed by the incident, Manga promptly reported the case to the Anti-Car Theft Unit of the local police command. The stolen car is described as grey with a mileage of 19,000.
In response to inquiries, Josephine Ameh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that efforts are underway to track down the suspect, Henry.
