No fewer than 15 workers of the Dangote Cement Company have been kidnapped at Okpella in Edo State.
An eyewitness narrated the incident to journalists, saying the workers inside their staff bus were intercepted on their way home.
According to him, the workers were returning from work when they were ambushed by suspected bandits at Okpella.

He said a lot of them were kidnapped and taken into the bush, including his friend, who happens to be inside the bus.
It was gathered that some workers who attempted to escape were shot and are currently battling for their lives right now at various hospitals.
Another eyewitness who spoke in anonymity, driving from the opposite direction during the incident, said he heard gunshots around Afokpella, a community in Okpella.
He said he saw people running towards him, making him take cover. He saw them taking the workers away into the bush.
The spokesperson for the Dangote Cement PLC, Michael Odofin, confirmed the abduction.
He said, “Some were injured and cannot speak much about the attack for now because the incident is very new.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Nwanbuzor, is yet to respond to the incident.
