An Inspector of Police of MOPO 51 , Oghara in Delta state, along with six other people, have been ambushed and killed.
The Inspector Lucky Martines, was attached to Lee Engineering Company Limited working with Shell Company in Nigeria.
The officer was killed along with six of the company staff.
They were killed on their way to work along Etekuru and Assa on Monday, 16 August, in Imo State.
Standard Gazette gathered that the gunmen overpowered Martin as they opened fire on the moving vehicle.
No organisation or radical group has claimed responsibility for the attack as the workers were not conveying large cash during the attack.
An eyewitness who pleaded anonymity with Standard Gazette said, “I was just driving down when I heard heavy gunshots coming towards the direction of a bus in my front.
“I quickly stopped and ran into the bush. When I came out, I saw over seven dead persons on the spot. It was sad.
“I really don’t know why they were ambushed “.
Delta state police command is yet to make any statement on the incident.
