The Delta State Police Command has announced a series of major successes in its operations against kidnapping, armed robbery, and drug and arms trafficking across the state and neighbouring regions.
Commissioner of Police CP Aina Adesina briefed the press at the state headquarters in Asaba, detailing achievements since he assumed office.
Acting on credible intelligence, a special police team dismantled a notorious inter-state syndicate involved in kidnapping, armed robbery, and drug trafficking operating across Delta, Bayelsa, and Rivers states.
A key breakthrough occurred on December 29, 2025, with the arrest of suspected kidnap kingpin Abubakar Mohamed in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Following interrogation, the suspect led operatives to concealed arms caches in forests within Bayelsa and Delta states.
In related operations, police arrested drug barons Bamigho Omoghomi, 28, and Omoriode Samuel, 46, among others. Recovered items include: 2 AK-47 rifles, 76 rounds of live ammunition, Pump-action guns, Various illicit drugs, A sum of cash, and Several other weapons.
CP Adesina reassured residents of Delta State that the Command remains committed to combating kidnapping, violent crime, and the proliferation of illegal firearms.
