The Deputy Chief Imam, Benin central mosque, Alhaji Otokiti Mohammed Osahon, has urged Nigerians, especially political office holders, to always fulfil their promises to the people.

This was the message during the Eid prayer held on Sunday in Benin.
He said Prophet Ibrahim kept his promise to Allah when he attempted to sacrifice his son Ismaila, which he noted is the reason for Eid Kabir celebration.

He said political officeholders should always toe the path that will make the people believe them and not always make them be on the receiving end, urging them to rethink for a better society.

The deputy chief Imam maintained that promises are a virtue that should be upheld with integrity.

Some worshippers said they were thankful to be part of the ceremony and prayed to Allah to give divine direction to make things better.

Eid El Fitr celebration, which to every Muslim symbolizes the obedience of Prophet Ibrahim, for his willingness to sacrifice his son Ishmael to Allah, also brings out the importance of keeping to promise.
