Diploma Holder Filmed Jumping Into Lagoon, Body Yet To Be Found
Lekan Odunare, a bearer of a National Diploma certificate, is said to have attempted suicide by jumping into the Lagos Lagoon.
The victim, whose body had yet to be found, jumped into the lagoon in the Epe area around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the Punch.
Lekan was seen resting on the railings of a bridge before jumping into the waves in a video that went viral on social media. A man photographing the situation was heard questioning his intentions before he dove in.
Before diving into the lagoon, Lekan, who appeared distraught, did not respond to any of the inquiries.
Many social media users, on the other hand, were perplexed as to why the man behind the camera made no attempt to help him.
The victim's remains have yet to be discovered, according to a source who claimed to know him and spoke to our correspondent.
Usman, the deceased's brother, stated his brother never spoke openly about anything that bothered him." I don't even grasp the scenario," he remarked.
That was all he wanted to do to himself. He was depressed from time to time, but he should have come out and talked to someone about it. He should have spoken up if something was hurting him, but that was the way he chose to live his life. Our mother has had a difficult time, but she will overcome it with time.©Standard Gazette, 2021.
