The Anambra State Police Command said on Thursday that arresting Bianca, the wife of outgoing Governor Ebelechukwu Obiano and widow of the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, for breach of public peace was unnecessary.
According to him, security agents at the Government House in Agu-Awka, Awka, the state capital, intervened promptly and prevented the brawl between the two characters from growing into a full-fledged affray, and Chukwuma Soludo’s inauguration as governor of the state went on as planned.
The two long-time rivals clashed at the event on Thursday, exchanging slaps in front of the cameras. As a result of the development, the outgoing governor, Willie, and his wife quickly left the venue of Soludo’s swearing-in ceremony.
