The reps delayed his presence for Thursday in the face of protests and criticism, insisting on suspending the national bank’s cash withdrawal restrictions.

Emefiele had been called before the House to discuss the CBN’s most recent policy, which among other things, put restrictions on cash withdrawals from Deposit Money Banks and other financial institutions.

During Wednesday’s plenary, Gbajabiamila read Amadu’s letter to the audience, and the lawmakers decided to accept Emefiele’s representation.
