The Department of State Services (DSS) has arraigned five individuals before an Edo State High Court over the alleged abduction of one Mr Iseriere in Benin City.

The accused persons, Ozo Obasuyi, Charles Edeho, Enofe Marvis, Johnbull Edoleyi, and Jeffery Igbinoba, were brought before Justice A. N. Erhabor, who presided over the case and ordered their remand in prison custody.

According to the charges, the five defendants allegedly kidnapped Jeffery Iserere on 13 June 2025 in the Eyean area, along the Benin-Auchi road.

The act, the judge noted, contravenes Section 2(1) of the Edo State Kidnapping Prohibition Law of 2013.

Justice Erhabor adjourned the case to a later date, pending legal advice from the Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP), to determine the next line of action in the prosecution.

Subsequently, the accused persons, Ozo Obasuyi, Charles Edeho, Enofe Marvis, Johnbull Edoleyi, and Jeffery Igbinoba, will be remanded to prison custody.
