ECOWAS Appoints Buhari To Coordinate COVID-19 Response

West African States leaders have appointed Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari to coordinate COVID-19 response team in the sub-region.

Buhari joined the submit via teleconference from Abuja, the country capital.

The regional leaders convened the summit to table the COVID-19 pandemic which has become a worldwide challenge.

Femi Adesina disclosed the development via Twitter on Thursday.

He said, “ECOWAS leaders at an extraordinary summit held by video conference have appointed President Muhammadu Buhari as champion that will coordinate the COVID-19 response in the sub-region. 

“All the other Presidents will be available to support President Buhari.”
