A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP Hon. John Yakubu has blamed former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC Adams Oshiomhole of being behind the recent vilonce in Edo State.

With barely two weeks to the September 19th Governorship elections, the campaigns and Rallies of both the APC and PDP have been engaged in heated exchanges leading to violence and some deaths.

But while speaking in an interview on Friday monitored by our correspondent, Hon. Yakubu who was the Running Mate to Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu in the 2016 governorship election in the state, accused the former Edo state governor of masterminding the hearing up of the state with his rhetoric and do or die politics.

“If you take a good look at the politics of Edo state today, you would know that Oshiomhole is the problem of the state. He wants to win the state by all means.

He has lost relevance. So it must be a do or die for him. If the election is conducted today, the result would be clear. It would be a landslide for Governor  Godwin Obaseki and the PDP.

“During the two years anniversary of Godwin Obaseki as governor of Edo state, Oshiomhole affirmed that the governor has performed very well even with little resource. What has changed? Adams Oshiomhole must tell Edo people and the world, what has changed all of a sudden.”

On why he didn’t join the APC with Osagie Ize-Iyamu, he said; ” He (Ize-Iyamu) came to me that he was leaving the PDP for the APC, I wished him well but told him I am not going with him. It’s a matter of principle. I have been in PDP and I am still in PDP,” he said.
