EDO 2024 ELECTION: IGP  Deploys 35, 000 Personnel, Temporary Bans Edo Security Network

The Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun has assured Edo State Residents of the neutrality of the police in the Conduct of the September 21 Governorship Election with the deployment of thirty-five thousand Police Men and pronounced a ban on the Edo State Security network. 

The IGP gave the Assurance in Benin City during a stakeholder meeting to chat about a Way forward for a free, Fair and Credible Election. 

The Inspector General Of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, says the Nigeria police force will continue to be neutral in the conduct of the elections across the Country with the deployment of thirty-five thousand policemen outside the support of other security Agencies to the Off  Cycle Governorship Polls in Edo State come September Twenty-First. 

The National Chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, said that about 2.6 million people had been registered to vote in the  Edo State Governorship election and maintained that his personnel had been trained on the smooth conduct of the exercise.
