Edo to check harassment of business owners

The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has said that the government is putting in place measures to end undue harassment of business owners by hoodlums in the state.

Obaseki said this in Benin during the inauguration of the new executives of the Benin Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BENCCIMA).

He noted that government was committed to providing a conducive environment for businesses to thrive in the state.

Represented by his deputy, Philip Shuaibu, he said the state was ready to partner BENCCIMA in actualizing the 200,000 jobs promised at the inception of his administration.

According to him, for businesses to thrive in any state, there must be law and order and the government has taken steps in putting them in place.

The BENCCIMA President, Benjamin Ezekwere, said assured that they would promote local and international businesses.
