The Edo State Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, on Tuesday, paid an on-the-spot assessment visit to Okpella in Etsako East Local Government Area, the scene of the unfortunate incident where eight personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were killed and a Chinese national abducted.
While commiserating with the Edo State Command of the NSCDC over the painful loss of its gallant personnel, the Commissioner condemned the attack, describing it as a dastardly act that will not go unpunished. “I want to reaffirm the Command’s commitment to work in synergy with other security agencies to ensure the perpetrators of this heinous crime are brought to justice.”
In his remarks to the Chinese community at BUA Cement, Okpella, the Commissioner assured that the Command is intensifying operational efforts to secure the safe rescue of the abducted expatriate, while also strengthening security deployments in the area to forestall a recurrence.
“I want to call for calm and cooperation from you people and the residents, and I urge you to provide timely and credible information to support the ongoing operations.”
