
Edo State Government has announced that it is now mandatory for registered business entities to obtain a State Health Insurance Certificate/Health Insurance Identity Card. The directive was issued through the State Health Insurance Commission on Monday, 18th October, 2021, and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, Esq.
The document will be required for any form of government authorization, which include business premises registration, renewal and permits for public/private organization, SMEs and NGOs.
The statement further states that the certificate is a “prerequisite for any individual business who wishes to carry out any form of government process through any of the Ministry and Government parastatal in Edo State.
“Consequently, organizations, public and private, including Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) that are yet to obtain the Edo State Health Insurance Commission Certificate are hereby advised to visit the Edo State Health Insurance Commission, 6th and 8th Floor, Block C, Secretariat Building, Sapele Road, Benin City, for more information.
The government called on its citizens to collaborate with its effort in bringing about sustainable growth and development and improve their socio-economic well being of Edo people.
